INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

We work with clients one-on-one to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. There are many different types of individual therapy, each with its own approach and techniques. Depending on the client's needs, we may use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help them change negative patterns of thinking and behavior, or psychodynamic therapy to help them become aware of unconscious patterns and work through them. Alternatively, we may use a humanistic approach, emphasizing empathy and understanding, or mindfulness-based therapy, which can help clients develop greater self-awareness and reduce stress and anxiety.

Individual therapy can be helpful for a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and trauma. Additionally, it can be used as a tool for personal growth and self-improvement.

It is essential to find a therapist who is a good match for your needs and with whom you feel comfortable working. As a mental health therapist, our goal is to create a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their emotions and achieve their mental health goals.

COUPLES THERAPY

As mental health therapists who provide couples therapy, we often utilize the Gottman Method in our sessions. Developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, this approach is grounded in research and has been shown to be effective in helping couples to improve their relationship. The Gottman Metho involves a comprehensive assessment of the couple's relationship, which includes an analysis of the strengths and challenges in their communication, conflict resolution, and overall relationship dynamics. Based on this assessment, we tailor our interventions to meet the specific needs of people.

One key aspect of the Gottman Method is the use of structured exercises and homework assignments to help couples practice new skills and behaviors outside of therapy sessions. For example, we may teach couples how to use "I" statements to express their thoughts and feelings, or how to engage in active listening to better understand their partner's perspective. Another important aspect of the Gottman Method is the emphasis on developing a deeper emotional connection between partners. This may involve helping couples to express their needs and desires more openly, or to engage in activities that promote intimacy and closeness.

Throughout the therapy process, we use Gottman's principles and techniques to guide the couple towards building a stronger and more fulfilling relationship. Ultimately, our goal is to help couples develop the skills they need to maintain a healthy and happy partnership for years to come.
